But where did this idea originate? Why do people experience this kind of personal crisis? Is it something confined to the teenage years? The concept originates in the work of developmental psychologist Erik Erikson, who believed that the formation of identity was one of the most important parts of a persons life. While developing a sense of identity is an important part of the teenage years, Erikson did not believe that the formation and growth of identity were just confined to adolescence. Instead, identity is something that shifts and grows throughout life as people confront new challenges and tackle different experiences. What Is an Identity Crisis? Are you unsure of your role in life? Do you feel like you dont know the real you? If you answer yes to the previous questions, you may be experiencing an identity crisis. Theorist Erikson coined the term identity crisis and believed that it was one of the most important conflicts people face in development. According to Erikson, an identity crisis is a time of intensive analysis and exploration of different ways of looking at oneself. Eriksons own interest in identity began in childhood. Raised Jewish, Erikson appeared very Scandinavian and often felt that he was an outsider of both groups. His later studies of cultural life among the Yurok of northern California and the Sioux of South Dakota helped formalize Eriksons ideas about identity development and identity crisis. Erikson described identity as a subjective sense as well as an observable quality of personal sameness and continuity, paired with some belief in the sameness and continuity of some shared world image. As a quality of unself-conscious living, this can be gloriously obvious in a young person who has found himself as he has found his communality. Identity Status Theory Researcher James Marcia (1966, 1976, 1980) has expanded upon Eriksons initial theory. According to Marcia and his colleagues, the balance between identity and confusion lies in making a commitment to an identity. Marcia also developed an interview method to measure identity as well as four different identity statuses. This method looks at three different areas of functioning: occupational role, beliefs and values, and sexuality. Identity achievement occurs when an individual has gone through an exploration of different identities and made a commitment to one.Moratorium is the status of a person who is actively involved in exploring different identities but has not made a commitment.Foreclosure status is when a person has made a commitment without attempting identity exploration.Identity diffusion occurs when there is neither an identity crisis or commitment. Those with a status of identity diffusion tend to feel out of place in the world and dont pursue a sense of identity. Causes In Eriksons stages of psychosocial development, the emergence of an identity crisis occurs during the teenage years in which people struggle with feelings of identity versus role confusion. In todays rapidly changing world, identity crises are more common today than in Eriksons day. These conflicts are certainly not confined to the teenage years. People tend to experience them at various points throughout life, particularly at points of great change, including: Losing or starting a jobBeginning a new relationshipEnding a marriage or partnershipHaving a childLosing a loved oneMovingExperiencing a traumatic eventLearning about a health condition Identity crises are also common among people with mental illness, including depression, codependence, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. Why Many People With BPD Also Have Difficulty Finding Themselves Symptoms How can you tell if youâre having an identity crisis? Statement Of The Problems Finance Essay - Free Essay Example
Sample details Pages: 3 Words: 912 Downloads: 8 Date added: 2017/06/26 Category Finance Essay Type Narrative essay Did you like this example? This paper is to test the relationship between management compensation and the dividend payout and the effect of public ownership, state ownership as well as family ownership will be taken into consideration. Dividend policy has long been a difficult task for the directors since it will be influenced by different factors. Different research papers have developed different models for the firms to apply a comprehensive dividend policy. Bhattacharyya and Morrill have figured out a negative relationship between management compensation and dividend payout by incorporating the US firms data into their analysis. However, the corporation feature of US firm is not diversified and complicated as Hong Kong and Chinese firms listed on the Asian stock market. Thus, this paper will perform an empirical research by adopting the Hong Kong and Chinese firms data to investigate the relationship between management compensation and dividend payout. Literature review Br ealy and Myers (2003) have revealed that dividend policy is one of the ten important unsolved problems in the finance society. Up till now, we still not yet fully understand the factors which are influential to the dividend policy. There have been different researches investigating the relationship between dividend policy and the other components. There are several ways to distribute the dividends. In normal practice, most of the corporations would choose to declare cash dividend or stock repurchase. Souml;hnke M. Bartram, Philip Brown, Janice C.Y. How, and Peter Verhoeven has investigated roles of the firms and country level agency conflicts in determining the dividend policy. They found out the relationship between the protection level of the country and the dividend policy; and a negative relationship between investment opportunities and total payouts. That means in a high protection country, shareholders are more willing to receive less dividend for a better investment opport unity. Also, in 2001, Fenn and Liang have showed that management stock options and payouts are negatively correlated and there is a positive relationship between repurchases and management stock options. However, in the last two decades, Chun Chang (1993) suggested that there is a positive linkage between the management compensation and the payout because it can be used to eliminate managers incentive to overretain funds and overspend. In 1987, Lewellen, W. G., C. Loderer, and K. Martin have found the executive pay is systematical to the dividend payout, which the result is consistent with Healys (1985) observation. In 2003, Bhattacharyya has developed a model of dividend policy which elaborates the linkage between dividend and executive compensation based in the principal-agent paradigm. In his model, cash will either by distributed by directors/managers as dividend or re-invested by directors/managers in some positive net present value projects. There will be two class ifications to distinguish different types of managers: High quality and low quality. His model assumes that high quality directors would invest the cash in some net present value projects while low quality directors would distribute cash in form of dividend to the shareholders. In other words, high productive directors getting higher pay would distribute fewer dividends than low productive directors getting lower pay. Empirically, it proved that there has been a negative relationship between management compensation and dividend payout. In 2008, Bhattacharyya and Morrill have conducted a tobit regression test using the US firms data to develop a more formal model related to the management compensation to the proportion of earnings paid out as dividends and document empirical support for the hypothesis arising from the previous model. The result has perfectly revealed that management compensation and dividend payout are negatively correlated. However, it is difficult to judge wh ether those research can be applied to either Asian countries or Hong Kong because they are based on the foreign market data. The typical features of Hong Kong and Asian countries should be state-ownership and family ownership corporations. There are limited papers discussing about the relationship between the management under different ownership types and dividend payout. Most of the researches are based on the data extracted from the US firms (Publicly ownership). In 2003, Klaus Gugler found that state-controlled firms have large target payout ratios while family-controlled firms have a lower one but the data is based on foreign stock market. Objective of the study Dividend policy is a fundamental strategy in corporate finance because it is influenced by different unknown factors and will influence other components accordingly. A comprehensive payout policy would contribute to a better corporation performance in the future and present. At the same time, management compensati on policy would also affect the overall performance of the corporation. With an appropriate compensation policy and payout, the corporation would be able to have a better performance as well as to attract more investors. Thus, it is essential for us to understand the relationship between payout and management compensation. Although there are researches discussing about its relationship, there are limited researches investigating into the Hong Kong and Asian market. It is difficult to judge the appropriateness of Bhattacharyyas model as it is based on the US firms data. The objective of this paper is to investigate whether the Bhattacharyyas model and the former research papers can be applied to the Hong Kong and Asian markets which are very different from US firms. This paper conducts an empirical research by using Hong Kong listed corporations (majority) and the other significant Asian listed corporations to test if management compensation alone, management compensation of a sta te-controlled corporation or management compensation of a family controlled corporation will affect the payout ratio. Humans, Omnivorous or Vegetarians Free Essays
Some people are ââ¬Ëmeat loversââ¬â¢ while others fiercely reject the idea of humans eating meat. Perceptions and love/hate for meat vary according to each ideological frame and culture. However, this informative essay will not address the perceptions and preferences that people might have. We will write a custom essay sample on Humans, Omnivorous or Vegetarians or any similar topic only for you Order Now It depends on a scientific debate with those who think that prehistoric man was vegetarian in nature and therefore humans should not eat meat and those who think that humans have always been omnivorous which means that we can eat seeds, grains, plants, fruits, but also animals.Through this essay I will defend that it is normal and natural that humans eat meat, in contrast with the vegetarianââ¬â¢s arguments, however it is healthier if we do not eat great amounts of meat per week. An argument defending human as vegetarian is centered on the characteristics of the human body compared to carnivorous animals. It argues that because humans donââ¬â¢t have claws or pointed teeth we shouldnââ¬â¢t eat meat. However, I found that the digestive and dental system of homo sapiens serves as an example on omnivorous adjustment because the incisor teeth and canine are good to tear cooked meat into pieces, whereas the molars are needed to grind vegetable matter. Furthermore, vegetarians argue that carnivorous animals have smaller intestines than humans because raw meat needs to be defecated faster, so it wonââ¬â¢t turn bad before it can be digested. However one argument to counter this position is that humans canââ¬â¢t be totally vegetarian either because plant material containing fiber and cellulose cannot be efficiently broken down by the enzymes our stomachs secrete and because humans have simple-chamber stomach while herbivores have multiple-chamber stomach. This reinforces the argument that humans are omnivorous because our bodies are not totally prepared for such big amounts of meat, like carnivorous animals, nor for all kinds of plants. Rather we should have a balanced meal. Another argument sustained by vegetarians is that the man came before the fire and therefore humans only ate fruits and vegetables. Further that human disguise the meat with culinary preparations because ââ¬Å"we cannot tolerate raw meatâ⬠. However, I found out that It all depends on a matter of evolution and adaptability. If we go back thousands of hundreds years ago when humans where similar to chimpanzees, maybe the vegetarian argument is true: humans were vegetarian. But with the same logic as we started walking on two feet because it became a necessity, our body adapted to eat meat when frost came over and eliminated all plants and fruits. Therefore, humans evolved. Homo sapiens started using pointed weapons so claws fell to disuse, homo sapiens discovered fire and found out that it made the meat softer so our canines got smaller. Our molars got flatter because of the cooked-meat diet, as well as the infusion of fruits, nuts and veggies. Furthermore, the vegetarian argument that ââ¬Å"everything that the human body needs can be found in natural vegetationâ⬠, does not mean that we are, in fact, vegetarian. Rather it means that if one person decides to be a vegetarian, he/she can survive without the proteins provided by meat. Therefore, being vegetarian is a personal decision, not a fact applying for everyone. One should decide consciously what type of food you want to eat, but bearing in mind that eating meat is not a bad thing for our body per se because our body is prepared to it, along with fruits and vegetables. Most uninformed vegetarians argue that meat is causing health issues, but the truth is that the todayââ¬â¢s growing population is demanding great amounts of food focusing on quantity over quality. Many animals are been feed with steroids while fruits are been cultivated with chemical substances. How to cite Humans, Omnivorous or Vegetarians, Essay examples

Why did support for the Whigs decline in the years 1832- 1841 free essay sample
After the Whigs electoral victory of 1832, how was it that the Tories were able to win the election in 1841, there were many factors that contributed to the enormous decline in Whig support during the reform years. The Whigs were running out of ideas by 1835. There was increasing economic depression, defections to the other side of the House occurred, the Whig ministries witnessed the rise of public pressure groups, the Whigs were viewed as being cynical and devious after the Litchfield House Compact. In comparison, the Conservative Partyââ¬â¢s strength showed a huge increase after the passing of the Reform Act due to party organization under the Carlton Club and Registration Societies, the strength of Peel as a politician and the Conservatives willingness not to use their power and influence in the House of Lords unconstitutionally. A substantial reason for the unpopularity of the Whigs was the limitations of the Great Reform Act of 1832. Initially, the Whigs had won the political battle over the 1832 Reform Act as a result of nationwide confrontation with the Tories and the House of Lords. However, Earl Greys successor, Lord Melbourne relaxed the aggression of the reformation programme and towards their last few years as the ruling government, the Whigs lost many opportunities to improve social conditions in towns and working conditions in factories and had no further resolved the issue of Free Trade until 1841. So this points towards the fact that the Whigs were simply not willing to reform anymore. Their new attitude was not popular with the British population and was proven lethal in the long run. Lord Melbourne was opposed to some of the measures being advocated by some of the more radical Whigs such as Lord John Russell and Henry Brougham. This included the proposal for the secret ballot and the idea of state education. However Russell, the Home Secretary, did manage to introduce some legislation. His first measure concerned the reform of local government. For many years most English towns were under the control of a self-elected body of aldermen and councilors. But with the Municipal Corporations Act, these men now had to be elected by the whole body of ratepayers. Bu this act wasnââ¬â¢t very popular because the Act did not compel the new councils to make social improvements and many towns failed to apply for incorporation because the procedure was too complicated and too expensive. In 1848 there were still sixty-two large towns without councils. The Act mainly benefited the middle classes. Very few workingmen were wealthy enough to be ratepayers, so genuinely the act didnââ¬â¢t help much with the Whigs popularity. Many landowners were alarmed by the reform of the Church of England in the 1830s such as the Marriage Act 1836 and feared further concessions after the Litchfield House Pact of 1835. More importantly, the landed classes tightened up in their defense of the Corn Laws, which they considered essential to maintaining the prosperity of farmers. In addition an Anti-Poor Law campaign led by Tory radicals was in full swing throughout the north of England. Such agitation created a revolutionary atmosphere in the country, which the Whigs could not handle and consequently were seen as being weak as they did not deal harshly with the Chartists. Agitation against the new Poor Law had also been building up, since the Whigs passed the legislation in 1834. Initially most of the public had received the Act favorably because the poor rates were low. Implementation in the north from the end of 1836 aroused serious and occasionally violent opposition, much of it organized by Tory radicals such as Richard Oastler and Sadler. These reformers, who were already prominent in the campaign for factory reform, provided an effective campaign against the new Act that the resistance in the south had lacked. The anti-poor law movement represented a new alliance between working and middle classes in the north, against the legislation; but there was also a local reaction against centralization that cut across class lines. By 1839, the campaign began to disintegrate as working class agitation was appeased by the continued use of outdoor relief and rivalries between middle class and working class elements of theà movement became visible. Increasingly Chartism attracted more radical supporters of the agitation. So the new poor law was a huge reason for the unpopularity of the Whigs and the opposition against legislations the Whigs had passed was growing. The anti-Poor Law attitudes that cultivated contributed significantly to an electoral alliance between Conservatives and Chartists. In addition, Chartist distaste for the Whig government had grown since 1839 with the attempted suppression of Chartism and the arrest of Chartist leaders. ââ¬ËWhig tyrannyââ¬â¢ was a popular cry among Cha rtists, something that the Conservatives could and did exploit. Another problem the Whigs faced was that when they won the election in 1832, there a fear of revolution that had spread throughout Britain and had essentially helped them get into power. So as the threat revolution faded so did the landed classes support for the Whigs. So the main reasons the Whigs popularity declined eventually leading to the Toryââ¬â¢s win of the election in 1841, was the general disappointment with their overall ââ¬Ëattemptsââ¬â¢ at reforms and the divide within the Whig party itself, which didnââ¬â¢t exactly promote efficiency. But the increasing strength of the conservative party was also a major issue in the Whigs downfall. The conservatives were more organized and were seen as the ââ¬Ëlaw and orderââ¬â¢ partyââ¬â¢. So maybe their decline in popularity wasnââ¬â¢t solely due to their own mistakes, but rather them having to deal with new issues that no one really new how to fix them e.g. economic depression, By Jocelyn Jarman

The eNotes Blog The Love Lives ofAuthors
The Love Lives ofAuthors Love is dangerous- best to leave it to the experts. Spend your Valentines Day living vicariously through these writers and their passionate love lives. Because lets face it, youd rather be draped in chocolate wrappers than a volatile amour, right? Just me? Lord Byron Image via Mental Floss The 6th Baron Byron was a Romantic with a capital R, but that doesnt mean he was particularly gentlemanly. His first partner in scandal, Lady Caroline Lamb, described him aptly when she professed he was mad, bad, and dangerous to know. Indeed, she was just one of many public conquests that rocked British society, several of which produced children. Only one of these was legitimate, the Honorable Augusta Ada Byron, also known as theà co-creator of the first computer, Ada Lovelace. Others, save for a daughter he had with Mary Shelleys sister, were never proven or recognized by Byron. In essence, he was a cad with a weakness for women, or so we can assume from his poemà Don Juan.à I mean, not evenà his own half-sisterà was off-limits to him. But still some come to his defense. Poet Katha Pollitt excused Byrons bad boy behavior with an interesting take on his contribution to feminism:à ââ¬Å"Byronââ¬â¢s great insight, in an era where women were expected to be placid and insipid (not that they were!), was to see that women were much like men: They wanted sex and went after it eagerly, if secretly.â⬠William Butler Yeats Image via The Poetry Foundation Its never too late to find love, or in Yeats case lust. The Irish poet was already in his fifties when he proposed to and married twenty-five year-old Georgie Hyde-Lees. It only took until their honeymoon for him to regret this decision, though they stayed married for the duration of his life and shared two children. Obviously a pragmatic and forgiving woman, Georgie wrote to her husband,à When you are dead, people will talk about your love affairs, but I shall say nothing, for I will remember how proud you were. Well, she was right: were still talking about his love life almost as much as his poetry, mostly because of the Lolita-esque nature of Yeats infidelities. At the age of sixty-nine Yeats underwent the Steinach operation, a procedure created to renew vigor in older men by increasing hormone production. It seemed to do the trick; for the last five years of his life he found poetic inspiration in the arms of numerous young women.à I find my present weakness made worse by the strange second puberty the operation has given me, the ferment that has come upon my imagination. If I write poetry it will be unlike anything I have done. So I guess were thankful for his lasciviousness? à Ick. W. H. Auden Image via Inside the Apple In 1928 Auden was engaged to be married, to a woman. Such was expected of a closeted gay man of that time. So, in 1929 the poet embarked for a sojourn in Berlin, where he could openly gratify his homosexuality. His goal was to essentially binge until he outgrew such desires, but ten months later nothing had changed except his own view of his sexuality. He returned to England, broke off his engagement, and wrote six love poems in German. His journal of that time, discovered in 1990, reveals a poets typical tormented view of love: He noted in his 1929 journal that he liked to suffer and that he regarded suffering as part of his identity as an artist. He also observed in the journal that the torment of his homosexuality was, for him, one of its attractions; he associated mutual love with despair. Most likely, Audens views on Valentines Day and requited love wouldnt gel with your own. However, there is one thought from his diary I petition us all to take to heart: all bureaucrats should be obliged to prove that they have a happy love-life, and immigration officials most of all. H. G. Wells Image via The Victorian Web The writer of the famousà War of the Worlds appeared to also suffer a war with women, at least one woman in particular. Wells was married to his cousin Isabel when he fell in love with one of his students, Amy Catherine Robbins. Yet, this was not his greatest upset. After divorcing Isabel the author married Amy, who agreed to an open marriage. Wells proceeded to carry on affairs with prominent women, some of whom were activists and novelists. He had a daughter out of wedlock with the writer Amber Reeves and then a son with the feminist Rebecca West, who was twenty-six years younger than him, only nineteen at the time. She apparently expected Wells to leave his wife for her, which didnt happen, and their tempestuous love affair ended with an angry letter from West: When you said, ââ¬Å"Youââ¬â¢ve been talking unwisely, Rebecca,â⬠you said it with a certain brightness: you felt that you had really caught me at it. I donââ¬â¢t think youââ¬â¢re right about this. But I know you will derive immense satisfaction from thinking of me as an unbalanced young female who flopped about in your drawing-room in an unnecessary heart-attack. Translation: Youre a jerk for making me feel like a crazy person. Basically the old-fashioned version of a break-up text. In his autobiography Wells confessed,à I was never a great amorist, though I have loved several people very deeply. Lets hope it soothed the burn. Want more author-related Valentines Day posts? Legal & Regulatory Regulations Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Legal & Regulatory Regulations - Essay Example However, the same perceived advantages of a partnership, if enjoyed without caution, lead to a loss of credibility both in the eyes of prospective employees and prospective financers. There are myriad advantages and disadvantages to both the business forms seen from any angle that may have a bearing upon the choice of business structures. However, one thing is certain that it is next to impossible to run a company without qualified professional help,- and associated costs,- if benefits are to be obtained and penalties to be avoided. The principal advantages of a company are of course, the vaunted limited liability, greater flexibility in tax planning, a greater social perception of credibility, and an ability to raise funds formally through the sale of equity shares. Partnerships that maintain detailed auditing and have themselves audited by professionals are on the same footing as start-up limited companies with respect to an external loan, - for any financier, including a bank, would want personal guarantees from the directors of a new company in order to give a loan, just as they would demand collaterals from the partners of a partnership. Further, as research has shown, there is almost no discrimination shown by banks between male and female owned businesses when it comes to a loan (Carter & Shaw 2006). The principal difference in approach is that "While female applicants are required to demonstrate evidence that they understand the nature and implications of business ownership, male applicants are required to demonstrate trustworthiness through social stability, evidenced by marriage." (Carter & Shaw, 2006, pg 65). We know our subjects' mindset is entrepreneurial, that they have started with a small business, and have put it into running with economic viability. They have set short term (expansion of premises and staff) and long-term goals (countrywide expansion), and are working only with the product with which they have gained experience. Thus, they seem to understand the nature and implications of business ownership. That they are receiving conflicting opinions from "business associates" does not rule out the possibility of having accountants or lawyers as business associates. The abundance of contested litigation in the country is proof enough that professionals quite often, and with regularity, hold differing opinions upon the same issues. Thus, what remains is to assess the non-financial capital of Peggy and Nancy before choosing the business structure appropriate to their situation and for their needs. Their cast is of typical woman entrepreneurs (Carter & Shaw, 2006) as their choice bu siness of a fruit juice bar and choice of structure as a partnership shows a low level of overall capitalization at start-up. including low requirements for (a) start-up and ongoing funding (financial capital); (b) attributes and skills (human capital); (c) tangible assets including facilities and equipment (physical capital); (d) organizational relationships, structures, routines, culture and knowledge (organizational capital); (e) technological knowledge or process based skills and experience (technological capital); and (f) relationships and network, social, professional, political, etc. (social capital). A Man For All Seasons :: essays research papers
What characteristics should a hero possess? There is no particular answer to this question since one can be considered a ordinary person even he actually commits his whole life to the people or even sacrifices his own life for the people while one can considered a hero by contributing a benefit to the people. In the epic poem "Beowulf", the main character Beowulf is considered a hero by the people because he is courageous, intelligent, and physically stalwart. A fictional character can easily be honored as a hero because it is only the author's assignment to make up a character that has one or some of the traits that will quality for a hero. However, being able to find a hero that really exists in the real world is a difficult task since a person has to effectively show the people that he possesses one or several characteristics of a hero. After reading the drama "A Man For All Seasons" by Robert Bolt, the main character Sir Thomas More, former Lord Chancellor of England, can be considered a hero as the historical background makes his actions very distinctive. As More was a person born in England at the time near the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Reformation in England. More was a nobleman, lawyer, humanist, writer, and he was also a long-time friend and favorite of the king in England that time, Henry VIII. More became the Lord Chancellor when Cardinal Wosley died in 1529. He is the one that nominates More to be the next Lord Chancellor to Henry VIII. As England had a distinct social class system and was ruled by an absolute monarch during that time, it made More a person that was highly educated, well-known, and politically powerful. These are all the basic characteristics that a hero should have other than big muscles or fighting skills. The milieu and government system in England helped to shape More as a hero. Due to the fact that England is a Catholic country, most of the people in England are Roman Catholics, including King Henry VIII and More. In the drama, Chapuys was a diplomat who suggested that "More is a true son of the Church". More also attempted to serve two masters, Henry and God, but this is proven to be a failure because at the end of the play More can choose to serve his King keep his life and lose his soul, or serve God to keep his soul and lose his life.

Psychosis vs Neurosis
Brain disorders are commonly misunderstood due to the actions of the person living with it. Knowledge about brain disorders or mental illness should lessen the misunderstanding of the disorder, and increase the support for the people suffering with the disorder. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a mental disorder is a mental or behavioural pattern or anomaly that causes distress or isability, and which is not developmentally or socially normative.Mental disorders are generally defined by how a person feel, acts, thinks or perceives. I will be discussing two mental disorders in which, they are often misunderstood as the same. This essay is about Psychosis vs. Neurosis. Both mental disorders cause the person suffering from it some distress and their behaviour is not socially acceptable. Both disorders are mostly diagnosed based on the harm they caused. When these disorders become severe, it is difficult for people with these mental disorders or llness to carry out daily activities and do some social interaction.Psychosis however is a mental condition which is referred to as ââ¬Å"a loss of contact with reality. â⬠People suffering from this type of mental illness are called Psychotic. The symptoms of people with psychosis are suffering from hallucinations, delusions, catatonia or thought disorder. The psychosis of a person is usually triggered by a history of a traumatic event, and stress. Stress triggers a short-lived psychosis called brief eactive psychosis and people suffering from this usually recovers to their normal state within two weeks. In some cases, a full-blown psychosis could last a long time, and maybe have attenuated psychotic symptom (such as low intensity hallucinations) present at most times. Brief hallucinations are triggered by falling asleep and then waking, bereavement (hallucinations of a dead loved one) severe sleep deprivation, caffeine intoxication, and an extremely stressful event. There are also subtypes of psychos is. These are menstrual psychosis (in rhythm with menstrual cycle), ostpartum psychosis (which happens after childbirth), monothematic delusions, occupational psychosis, stimulant psychosis and shared psychosis.Neurosis, on the other hand, is a mental disorder involving distress, but people who are neurotic are not suffering from hallucinations or delusions. Signs of people suffering from neurosis have anxiety, sadness or depression, anger, irritability , mental confusion, and low sense of self-worth. There are also behavioural symptoms such as phobic avoidance, vigilance, impulsive and compulsive acts. There are cognitive problems such as obsession, disturbing thoughts, habitual fantasizing, negativity, cynicism, etc. There are many forms of neurosis. These are: obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety neurosis, personality disorders, hysteria, and an endless variety of phobias. Neurosis is simply defined as a ââ¬Å"poor ability to adapt to one's environment, an inability to change o ne's life patterns, and the inability to develop a richer, more complex, more satistying personality â⬠According to Carl Jung, ââ¬Å"people became neurotic when they ontent themselves with inadequate or wrong answers to the questions of life. He said that the unconscious finds expression primarily through an individual's inferior psychological function, whether it is feeling, thinking, sensing, or intuition. For me, psychosis and neurosis are very different yet similar. The behaviour of psychotic and neurotic people are both not accepted or understood by the society. People with less knowledge about these illnesses often has a negative perception on people suffering with psychosis and neurosis.

Review the potential benefits of volunteerism to the volunteer (minimum of FIVE sources) 35marks. Can help us develop new skills. When participating in volunteer activities there are many skills we learned from the activity. For example we learnt about soft skills. Among the skills is teamwork, communication skills, problem solving, time management, attitude and work ethic, and self-confident. Teamwork is a very important thing when doing a group of work. Everyone must know the work on their part. To make a successful teamwork everyone should know every job in every part of their members. Next is communication. If we join a volunteer that involves talking to the community, communication skills are the important things. When we join this volunteer activity we can learn from experienced people. We can see the way they communicate with the community and from that we can learn and improve our communication skills. We are learning about problem solving. Everything has a solution. We should be able to control emotions when there is a misunderstanding with group members. If our teammate has a problem and he cannot finish it, the other teammate should always help to get things back. Time management is the most important thing while do everything. When we can manage time well all the things will be easy and not stressful. Can helps us build new experience. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Potential Benefits Of Volunteerism" essay for you Create order People nowadays, consider volunteering as waste of time and resources. They cannot accept the fact that someone can work without remuneration or a salary. For me the public opinion is wrong. Being a volunteer is very good and can release the stress of the work. Otherwise it can get a lot of experience. For example, I volunteered at Tengku Syed Sirajuddins Polytechnic for the programed Gerak Kerja Usahawan Kampus Zon Utara and I had a non-buyable experience of organizing an event for Polytechnic student Syed Sirajuddin. At that time I was able to experience the setup of everything. We work with the group and everybody should ensure that each section is no problem. This is because to ensure everything will work smoothly on the day of the incident. This experience has made me to understand that when relying on what others think, we cannot create impact in people life, for example by joining this field of volunteerism. We have to feel it first. Volunteering is not only allowing you to offer your services, but to learn and discover new experience and improve your skills. One secret in volunteer work is to avoid thinking about money because it will bring bad attitude. Young people expect to be paid as they are volunteering because they dont know the rules of being volunteerism. Can Gain Confidence. When we join volunteers we are faced with many people and that makes us hard to adapt. If we do not have the courage to face the community we can see how well-versed people do it. That way a little bit can increase confidence in us. Volunteering can help us gain confidence by giving us the chance for trying something new and build a real sense of achievement. Low self-confidence isnt a life sentence. Self-confidence can be learned, practiced, and masteredjust like any other skill. Once you master it, everything in your life will change for the better. Barrie Davenport. When I involve in volunteer my confidence level was increasing. I not scare to talk in front of people. I can give best talk to others and give full commitment in every job. Thats why I join the volunteer programed. This low self-confidence is caused by negative thoughts running through our minds on an endless track. As long as we think we are not good when dealing with many people as long as our confidence level is not turning back. We must be confident and ignore what people will say. Everything will go smooth if we trust our self.

The Sarbanes Oxley Act 2002 - 1499 Words
Introduction Many companies have failed their shareholders through deception and impartiality within the last few decades, examples include Enron, Maxwell and TYCO. The Appendicular Skeleton Free Essays
The clavicle is a long bone, but it has no medullary cavity. The clavicle supports the scapula and arms, it protects deeper structures (blood vessels, for example) in the upper chest, and it transmits impact from the arms to the axial skeleton. The scapula is attached to the thorax and vertebral column by muscles. We will write a custom essay sample on The Appendicular Skeleton or any similar topic only for you Order Now The pectoral girdles attach the upper extremities (limbs) to the axial skeleton and provide attachment sites for many muscles that move the upper limbs. The 2 pectoral girdles and the associated muscles form your shoulders. The pectoral girdles are very flexible and allow the upper limbs a great deal of flexibility. They permit movement in many directions at the shoulder joint. The socket of the shoulder joint is small, shallow, and poorly reinforced with ligaments. This arrangement is good for flexibility, but it is not very stable. Shoulder dislocations are therefore fairly common. The UPPER LIMBS (extremities) (FIGS. 8. 4-8. 8) consist of 60 bones; 30 bones per limb. These are the bones of the arms, wrists, and hands. They include the HUMERUS, ULNA, RADIUS, CARPALS, METACARPALS, and PHALANGES. The PELVIC GIRDLE (hip girdle) (FIGS. 8. 9-8. 11 TABLE 8. 1) attaches the lower extremities (limbs) to the axial skeleton, and it supports and protects the visceral organs of the pelvic cavity. The pelvic girdle is a strong and stable support for the lower limbs. While the shoulder girdle moves somewhat freely and allows the arms a great deal of mobility, the pelvic girdle is secured to the axial skeleton by some of the strongest ligaments of the body. Its sockets, which articulate with the thigh bones, are deep and cup-like and are heavily reinforced with ligaments. Even though both the shoulder and hip joints are ball-and-socket joints, the thigh cannot move in its socket with the same degree of freedom as the arm can in the shoulder joint. Flexibility in the hip joint is sacrificed for stability. The pelvic girdle consists of the 2 HIPBONES (coxal bones). Each hipbone of a newborn baby consists of 3 bones: the superiorà ILIUM, the inferior and anterior PUBIS, and the inferior and posterior ISCHIUM. Eventually these fuse into one COMPOSITE bone. The area where they all fuse is called the ACETABULUM, which serves as the socket for the femur. The PUBIS of the hipbones meet anteriorly at the PUBIC SYMPHYSIS. The hipbones articulate posteriorly with the sacrum at the SACROILIAC JOINT. The 2 hipbones, with the sacrum and coccyx, form the basin-like structure called the PELVIS. The LOWER LIMBS (extremities) consists of 60 bones (FIG. 8. 12-8. 17); 30 bones per limb. These include the FEMUR (thighbone), PATELLA (kneecap), FIBULA TIBIA (lower leg), TARSALS (anklebones and heel bones), METATARSALS (feet), and PHALANGES (toes). Android Application Social Implications of Mobile Applications
Question: Discuss about theAndroid Application for Social Implications of Mobile Applications. Answer: Introduction The essay depicts a critical analysis on social implications of mobile applications. Social media interaction helps the students to share content across web media and establish collaboration with each other with constant connectivity. Mobile applications are important components of the social strategy (Hillman et al. 2013). The essay will select two journals for the critical analysis and will produce a result to frame whether the authors made appropriate critical analysis for their journals or not. Majorly, the essay will demonstrate that the research questions are valid or significantly stated by the authors or not. In addition to this, the essay will state the methodologies used by the authors for mobile application covers adequate research or not. Lastly, it will detect that the collected data, analysis of data and supportive evidences explained in the journals are ethical or not. Critical Analysis Research questions or problems stated in the journal: Mobile devices can benefit learners in the sphere of education. The research question on social implications of mobile applications has been explored in great detail explaining the integration of mobile computing devices in the area of learning and teaching (Bell, Maeng and Binns 2013). It emphasizes the need for mobile devices in the landscape of higher education and with it presents its set of challenges and opportunities (Jones, Scanlon and Clough 2013). The aim of the research study is to conduct a broader research on the opinions of teachers and students on implementing mobile applications and devices. This study also presents the perceptions and experiences of the students in using mobile computing devices, and the role played by mobile devices in the society. The first journal implies that, the future of the classroom is fully dependent on the emerging technologies adopted by the mobile applications. Mobile learning is stated as one of the most appropriate learning procedures used in higher education (Rossing, et al. 2012). It also stated that, mobile technologies support the learners and helps the users to keep engage themselves with different critical communicative learning activities. The journal demonstrates the efficiency and effectiveness of digital wireless devices to increase the learning outcome for the users (Gikas and Grant 2013). The mobile learning helps the student to gain knowledge across the classrooms wall. On the other hand, the second journal states the purposes of using the mobile computing devices in the teaching learning procedures. It will provide the perception of the students in mobile learning. It also explained the importance of mobile learning and how the social media and web 2.0 tools creates a secure communic ation. The survey reported that, ipad helped him to understand the detail of the graphs rather than only imagination. Music students are able to get ear training sitting at home whenever wanted. Immediate response motivates the students to learn more from the internet sources (West 2013). Whereas, in common class rooms at the same time more number of students communicate and share their view and needs with the teachers and sometimes, in case of any query thy feel helpless to ask for the query. However, in mobile learning one can ask for their query and teachers responds in a simple and easy manner (Jones, Scanlon and Clough 2013). Again, a single video can be viewed by a student more than once which is not possible in class rooms. Though the journal explained the importance of mobile learning but still it shows certain issues such as it does not provided how the learners can gain knowledge from anywhere and anytime whenever needed. Again, on a survey one student stated that ipad not only kept him engage to the imaginary world rather it helps him to visualise what he is exactly earning from the mobile applications (Jones, Scanlon and Clough 2013). However, if any of a student has proficiency in a particular technology he feels that another emerging technology adaptation is not possible for him. The journal did not describe how one student can feel efficient on a particular technology. Analysis of research to determine whether it adequately covers the relevant existing research literature: The journal is selected because the research performed by the authors adequately covers the research literature. This qualitative research study put emphasis on students from three different universities. For a minimum of two semesters, the teachers of those students were asked to implement mobile phones in the students curriculum (Gikas and Grant 2013). These journals are selected as it explained the purpose of mobile learning in coming future for the students. Data were gathered from the interview taken from student focus groups. After analyzing the data, two specific themes were recognized the advantages of mobile phones in the courses taken by students, and the limitations that come with learning from cell phone. This particular paper is selected because it has almost covered all the aspects of the students. It is determined that students who regularly follows all the classes are less efficient that those who maintain regular mobile learning (Kim Park and Rho 2013). In mobile based higher education teachers can connect all the students though a media at a time. The primary findings of the study stated that, the teachers should focus on those sections which requires large amount of writing (Rossing, et al. 2012). Investigation showed that, the five major themes relevant to the mobile learning such as access, share and novelty, style of learning and preferences and conveniences over the functionalities all have certain opportunities and limitations at the same time. These journals are suitable because it showed the positive and negative both parts during the investigation. The available information that can be accessed by the students provides them an opportunity to make complete research on the real world problems (Gikas and Grant 2013). It also showed that, in mobile computing and mobile application utilization group work and collaborative learning gives positive opportunities to the students. Again, sharing of point of views enhances the level of knowledge of the students. The dynamic changes in the environment are possible by adopting different emerging tools which is strictly connected to mobile learning (Hillman et al. 2013). The journal explained that, simple and variety of applications increases the knowledge level of the learners and the technology based design provides positivity among them. Thus it can be said the selection of the paper is appropriate to depict social implication of mobile application. It provides the students an oppo rtunity to connect through a wireless medium. At the same time certain limitations are also found in these journals it illustrated that in mobile learning process resources are shared by many students no such owner of a particular technology is found but it did not elaborated how to enhance the efficiency of the shared technology that the current one. On the other hand, during real world application if destruction is found then, total system may lead to failure. As in mobile learning the technology will never bother about the capacity of the individuals rather it will keep on moving dynamically but still the journal does not did no explained how much training and development is needed to improve the capacity of every individual. If, any kind of connectivity issue occurred in the system then, how to overcome that the journal did not mentioned. Device is a major challenge in case of mobile learning as if any fault is occurred in the device hen the complete process will be in vain (West 2013). Analysis of methodologies used in the research: The methodology used in these journals represents detail experiences of the mobile devices users. Process and characterization of a general qualitative study are used, and in order to identify categories and themes transcripts are transparently examined. This research approach was undertaken to represent the experiences as encountered by the participants who were interviewed. This research study was comprehensive in the sense that only smart phones and cell phones were used (Gikas and Grant 2013). They are used because of the characteristics such as small size and portability, users could send messages and make phone calls; users are enabled to download a wider variety of applications, and constant connectivity to the Internet (Ferreira et al. 2013). To determine the purpose of the sample, the study implemented maximum variation strategy with the criterion strategy. These journals represent different methodologies such as the context and the participants, how much positivity is possible after adopting fostering collaborative learning (Gikas and Grant 2013). It stated that, the mobile learning provides the learners an opportunity to gain knowledge and enable the users to experience the amount of data in an appropriate manner. These particular journals are selected because it provides the readers to understand the usefulness of mobile learning and at the same time the possible advantages associated to it. The students are able to access all the information whenever and from wherever required (Hillman et al. 2013). The journal represents that; students can access data frequently, various ways are available to learn, merging of different contents gained for various resources and immediate and proper communication among between the teachers and the students. At the same time, certain limitations are also defined during the analytical diagnosis of the journals. It has been found that, in mobile learning one can get quick access from different resources but if any of an information is improper then the learner cannot determine whether the information is correct or not. The journal is unable to provide any tool which can detect the correct information from the learners (Rossing, et al. 2012). The social networking tools enables the learners to interact to each other in a well organized manner but in case of any fault efficient and effective application are not framed. Analysis of agreement between the research question, the philosophical framework used, and the research methods: The aim of this research is to find out the implications of learning and teaching through mobile computing devices in the field of higher education (Bell, Maeng and Binns 2013). The analysis taken these journals because, mobile devices, mobile applications and social media currently play a major role in students learning and have become an integral part of their life (Kukulska-Hulme, 2012). In these journals the limitations and challenges have been explore by mobile computing devices and the students perception and experiences by using them. The journal provides the following assumptions: mobile devices, and its applications can deliver much beyond accessible course materials, both informal and formal mode of learning, and for learners, it is authentic and context-aware (Brown and Mbati 2015). Thus it can be said that the journal selection is appropriate. The researchers explore three themes of the research topic, which are enabling authentic learning while on the move, fostering collaborative learning and engaging learners with constant connectivity (Rossing, et al. 2012).The methodology is based on the same by collecting data through Skype interviews, analyzing them through open coding and finding connections and finally, checking the data findings with the interview transcripts for checking the findings worthiness and any mistakes. Still certain issues are associated with these journals. The questionnaires stated whether the technologies can be adopted by all the users, whether the dynamic changes are helpful for the learners or the technologies are enough to obtain throughout information from different resources present in the internet services. These journals are unable to provide proper solution. Biases that can detect the methods used in this study or flaws in the logic or methods that undermine the results: The research was undertaken through a number different methodologies and process for every step from a selection of participants to the processing of data findings, and every step has been detailed in the essay. The results are categorized into benefits of mobile devices for learning, quick access to information, communication, different ways of learning, situated learning, challenges from learning with mobile computing devices, classes that had anti-technology instructors, device limitations, and distraction due to the mobile device (Gikas and Grant 2013). To remove discrepancies with data or biasing, the authors focus on different groups. Through there is a recognizable change in the student participants as they recognized the distractions from mobile devices, difficulty in typing on small keyboards on a mobile screen, and fear of technology not working properly still there are enough advantages presents. Ethical aspects: From the perspective of ethical concern, these journals cover all the segments. These journals are selected as it focuses on the current trend of learning and teaching through mobile devices and the integration of social media with downloaded applications. The goal of the research is share their point of view that mobile devices have much possibilities and significance in the sphere of higher education (Rossing et al. 2012). Before the research, the researchers have notified the instructors to incorporate mobile devices into the curriculum for two semesters and then students were asked to participate. Those who participated in the survey don the task willingly because they felt they had an impact of using mobile devices in their learning methods. The student participants were not harmed in any way. Instead, they shared their experiences willingly with other through an independent platform, and also confessed the issues and challenges they faced (Bryman 2015). Even though the aim is to prove a point, they only came to the conclusion after the data from the findings backed it up, and also associated them with the stories and experiences the participants shared. Students selected from three universities which are medium to large public and private institutions (Hamilton 2014). The journal took references on methodologies from earlier research studies of authors and applied them for data collection, open coding and then working with them to find common links. The research study represents different parts of methodology, findings, and implications (Saunders, Kitzinger and Kitzinger 2015). From the ethical perspectives it has been determined that, the journals are ethically supportive and no such arguments are occurred during the critical analysis. Research finding supported by the evidence: The research findings are almost supported by the evidences but still challenges are presents in the journals. Conclusion From the overall discussion it can be concluded that the essay represents all the aspects of social implication of mobile application especially in case of mobile learning for the students. During critical analysis it has been found that the journals have covered all the aspects of the learners but still certain limitations are defined. In order to check for trustworthiness and rigor, the interviews are cross checked with transcripts to ensured that their research study follows a good agreement between research question, philosophical framework, and methodologies. There were no biasing or any flaws present throughout the research as the researchers verified the data findings through many structures and sub-structures. The journal does not provide the ways in which the issues can be mitigated. From the complete overview of the diagnosis it determines that, particularly for the review the journal selection is appropriate. These journals gave enough information but still certain limitat ions are detected those are not described by the authors. References Bell, R.L., Maeng, J.L. and Binns, I.C., 2013.
